I confess, I did not check with poser 7, only P8/pp2012/pp2014. It does only work with figures, and should toggle them on and off

Thanks a lot, very useful. Though the .pz2 don't work for me somehow (P7). But the script itself works fine when installed into the scripts menu (that's where i like it better anyway). Also there has to be at least one item to cast shadows in the scene (with mapped shadows that is, didn't test RT yet), or Poser will render an empty square shadow map for each shadow casting light.
