I have always had an interest and arty stuff and cartooning in particular. Some time last century (1998 I think it was) I brought myself a new computer (350MHz!) to run graphics software on that I had recently learned of with the intention of speeding up the cartooning workflow. But then I discovered how powerful it really was and all about 3D graphics. My cartooning pretty much stopped at that instant.

I have been playing with Carrara, Bryce, and Poser for a long time and more recently come to grips with the amazing (but at times puzzling) Blender. I find the computer graphics a fun way to indulge my creativity and end up with something that looks good.

In my real life, the one that pays the bills, I am an energy researcher / engineer working for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority in New Zealand. I often find that my creative side is often called upon to help me solve particularly chewy problems and questions that end up on my desk. This keeps it all interesting.
