OneMap Iray Skin shader: All you need is a diffuse map! Apply shader to any skin or skin-like texture, copy the same maps over to Top Coat Bump map, and you are done. Feel free to use regular Bump/Normal/Displacement channels, but try not using them and see if you like the result. If you want a more 'wet' look, try brightening the top coat color or setting the top coat glossiness higher. Also try increasing the Top Coat bump to 10. If the skin looks too pink, add a slight blue or green to SSS reflectance tint, or shift translucency color toward green. The Skin Noise Scale adds a procedural noise to the effect. Lowering the scale can make the skin look a bit rougher, increasing scale smooths the skin a bit; probably best to leave it alone. Please donate if you find this useful! Willbear 3DL Terrain Shader: Please donate and help encourage more freebies!This 3DL shader for Daz Studio has two layers, the default and then a set of 'top' channels mixed based on Normals.Minimum and Maximum Slope define the range over which the surface switches from the regular layer to the top layer.The 'top' layer will appear on the surfaces facing upward, while the rest appears along the sides (or underneath the object).A value of 1 faces upward, 0 sideways, and -1 downward. The broader the range between minimum and maximum, the gentler the transition.Feel free to plug in whatever textures you want.Presets and some basic terrain textures are provided to start you out. Applying a Cover preset on a regular object will convert it to the WT3 Terrain shader. Most maps should transfer over properly, though this shader lacks fancier elements like Translucency. VRX iRay Skin Shader: Hello people. This is my personal iray skin shader. You can use it with any kind of skin texture, no matter what color it is.Only for DAZ Studio.
Simple iRay GhostLights Shader: Since I ever used this technique in 3Delight for adding the diffuse daylight into my rooms, now here I present a free iRay shader to do the same. Or create additional diffuse light for any other purpose in your sceens. Please keep in mind: GhostLights add some light into your scenes which comes out of the nowhere, doesn't show up in reflections and is totally un-photorealistic. But it may help to increase iRay render times. This package contains a shader preset to install invisible light objects (preferred simple planes) to additionally illuminate the room of your scenes. Those lights don't show up in reflections. Perhaps it is not that comfortable compared to the corresponding product of the DAZ shop, but very simple to handle. Just install a primitive plane behind the window or under the ceiling with its normal poining inside the room. After selecting the surface simply apply the Diffuse GhostLight Shader Preset. Now it is up to you to adjust the emission parameters "Emission Temperature" and "Luminance" for your likes. The selected unit parameter "Cd/cm²" guarantees a constand light flux independant of the size (constant per area unit). CopyRight:Commercial use is strictly prohibited.Have fun accepting those rules.

Yuletide Joy Ornaments Alternates: These are alternate material presets for 3Delight for the Yuletide Joy Ornaments from Daz. http://www.daz3d.com/yuletide-joy-ornaments (currently free, but limited time) They use the base texture maps, so you must have them installed in the default location or you will get 'not found' errors.  They are set up to use raytraced reflections.  But it is easy to change, if you want to use mapped reflections, flip from Raytraced to Environment Map in Reflection Mode and then to make things easy, plug the 'default' HDRI that Iray loads into the Environment Map slot.  In the zip file is a folder with my initials...for ease of use, place it in the Props/Yuletide Joy Ornaments/3Delight folder (it can really go anywhere).
Conductors and alloys for Blender Cycles: A set of materials for metals and alloys for Blender Cycles. I haved chosen a PBR (physically based render approach) ,using complex index of refraction (real part n and extinction coefficient k). Complex ior can be found on internet for various elements Conductors: aluminium beryllium calcium carbon chromium cobalt copper gold indium iridium iron lead magnesium manganese marcury molybdenum nickel palladium platinum silver sodium tin titanium tungsten zinc zirconium   Alloys: brass bronze silver - copper cupronickel steel_castiron The file is in .7z  format and contains .blend files for materials.You can use 7zip to unzip the file. Materials are made using the node editor of blender cycles. in the images there are some materials,alloys,and nodes. There is also an example of copper rust node.  
Sanitaryware: This is a preset for Omnifreaker's UberSurface shader for Daz Studio.It is to provide a plain white 'sanitaryware' like surface, for tubs, sinks, toilets and other bath fixtures.  As is, it is set to use environmental reflections, so you need a complete environment/room or skydome.  You can flip over to using mapped reflections and dropping in a map, but I think it looks much better with environmental reflections.  As a side effect of this, you may not get a stark white.  It will be influenced by the environment/light colors, just like real life.  What the heck...I was going to give instructions and examples to tweak the colors for things like ivory, buff, cream and so on fixtures, but it's just easier to make a couple more presets!  So, you are going to get several instead of just one! A nice dozen.If you really want, simply go to a manufacturer's website or Google 'toilet color charts' and you can pretty much find any color imaginable (and some that really shouldn't be...).Just unzip and merge to your content location.As usual, these are free to use for all renders, just don't try selling them as is.
material sampler for the Poser 11 construct enviro: Also includes a "haze ring" prop which will hide the UV seam between the sky and the ground, and Godray props to fit the "Sky Aglow" atmosphere MAT.I recommend that you switch off all unneeded lights.  For a Sun/moon, make a point light and scale it up to about 8000%, and position it against the skydome wall.  Attenuation should be "constant".For the RGB mapped ground, create your own controller maps by starting with a black background and drawing footpaths in green, stony areas in red, flowers in blue.Copyright seachnasaigh 2016.  Free for both personal and commercial renders;  do not redistribute.
Poser 11 Superfly Uber Shader version 3: Here is the new version of my Superfly shader. I have added sub-surface scattering to it in this version. For those unfamiliar with my shader I have cobbled this together from info I have gotten watching tutorials on Cycles material for Blender. I am not a blender user but have a copy on my computer.The shader is made up of three nested compound nodes but is intended to be used without ever having to go deeper than the main node. Most everything you should need is exposed so you can plug maps, masks, or anything else into it's inputs like you would on the Poser root node or the Physical surface root. The shader should make physically accurate textures that use roughness modulated Fresnel reflections. With it you will be able to make most materials you need: plastic, wood, metal, rubber, leather, etc. I have now incorporated SSS into the shader which can be controlled by a mask if you need. I still consider this a work-in-progress and if anyone has good ideas for it or finds mistakes in my work please let me know and I can fix/amend the shader and we all can benefit New note: just updated this shader to version 2. This one includes refraction so glass can be made with it (still has all the other stuff) Version 3 adds Anisotropic refections and will now accept normals in addition to traditional bump maps. I have included in this zip a bunch of my other shaders

WTP2 - Will Timmins' Perlin Shaders for Iray: This pack of shaders allows use of noise functions to generate patterns of bump, color, and more. Usable at close range and distant without tiling problems, can be combined with existing shaders to add a little fine detail or unusual effects. WTP shaders can be layered, adding dirt and dust, or snow caps, or simply layer after layer of color variation.These shaders cover as much as three or four commercial shader packs, plus can be adapted to wildly new variations. Cyclorama Textures: This is a collection of material presets for the Multiplane Cyclorama. All presets have a bump map as well as a displacement map for the grass parts. There are options with pathways and there is even one material preset that has a hedge texture for the planes and a pose preset to line up the planes according to the background. Trystan Studio Iray Shaders: These are the Iray shaders for my M4 Trystan that is for Poser 9+   *Note No textures or morphs included, only Iray material settings.
Will Timmins' Procedural Shaders: Need textures that ignore weird UV maps, show up well at close and long distance? These Iray shaders use Perlin noise to cover objects. UV maps are unimportant! There are 7 basic presets covering combinations of Color, Cutout, and Bump noise, plus another 14 specific presets for everything from scales to stars.  
Iray Skin Shader for Daz Studio: This gives skin a one click sheen. Apply to skin under the surfaces tab. Use the Metallic Flakes Roughness slider to adjust the level of sheen. Higher numbers give less gloss. The sample render uses a setting of .65. Have fun and experiment. Find the shader under - My Library>Shaders>AXL Shaders. Commercial and non commercial renders ok, no redistribution of content.
Scottish Clan Tartan Shaders, Volume I: This set of 24 four shaders are based upon clan tartans from Scotland. These historically accurate shaders will help your renders stand out with an air of authenticity.
Metals: 15 metal presets for UberSurface.  They are 3Delight only. These are precieous and semiprecious metals.  Gold, Silver, Platinum....Brass, Bronze and Pewter. All are set to use raytraced reflections, so there must be something for them to reflect or they will look dull, lifeless or even black in the render.  Most are set up to have a 'soft' or brushed look.   Reducing the reflection blur and turning off the Anistropic  Active on one or both Specular channels will increase the 'polish' and make them more reflective/shiny. As usual, usable in both commercial and personal renders, no redistribution.
Carrara A3 & V3 Procedural Skin Shaders: Thank you for downloading this product. This product consists of three files. The main file is a multi-domain Carrara skin shader set for DAZ 3D's Aiko 3 and V3*. The other two files are Carrara dynamic hair eyelashes and eyebrows that were built for Aiko 3 and V3*.    I originally did this as a learning exercise, and used a V4 as the base to work on. The original V4 version can be found in my account here at ShareCG. There is information on the original tutorial I followed to create these shaders included in the V4 Procedural Skin shader read-me file. I encourage you to check it out, and to also pick these shaders apart and experiment with different skin tones, ethnic looks, etc. Please read the included Read-Me file for important instructions on how to use this product, special tips, etc. *Tested on, and works on V3 as well!
Fisty's Liquids - DS Shaders & Poser MT5s: This is an old PA Christmas gift, rehosting it here.  I haven't changed it in any way from the original I gave away. DS files are shader presets for DS 3+ (DSA files), they likely won't work at all in Iray.  Poser files are MT5 material presets and work fine in P5+ It includes 3 props: a puddle, a wine glass, and a 360 environment.  They are in poser format (PP2) in the props folder and will load in DS & Poser with the correct surface settings automatically.
Cel Toon Eyes For Genesis: Something I've had hanging about that used to be on a website of mine I'm taking down. I don't know if the files are perfect in it because I haven't bothered with it in a long time. I probably won't edit this more. For Genesis. DAZ only.
DAZ Iray car related shader presets 'megapack': This pack includes 124 shader presets for DAZ Studio Iray: all shader presets from my previous packs #1 and #2 plus 86 all new shader presets, 23 for leather, two for rubber (matte black for tyres and shiny white for sidewalls), almost 60 shiny car paint colours, and a handful of others. Most of the car paint colours are non-metallic 1950s colours from Cadillac, Chevrolet and Ford (including all colours that Cadillac offered for MY 1953 and MY 1957, reproduced as exactly as my sources allow me to), but the pack also includes all exterior paint colours Shelby offered for the 1965 Cobra, and a number of more generic colours. Shaders that of course can be applied to anything you want to be shiny, from fingernails to vases and furniture, just like the leather colours can be applied to anything that you want to look like furniture leather.To install just unzip the file and copy them to your DAZ Studio content library the usual way, and they will show up in 'Shader Presets/Iray - Tom2099'. If you already have pack #1 and/or #2 installed you will be asked if you want to overwrite the existing files, answer yes and you'll get not only new icons for the earlier shaders, giving a uniform look in the folder, but also in some cases updated versions of the older shaders (removing an irritating error message that plagued some of the shader presets in pack #2...). NOTE: The shader presets are renderer specific, and will only work with the DAZ Studio version of Nvidia Iray, which is currently (June 2015) only available in DAZ Studio 4.8 Iradium, meaning that they will NOT work with 3delight or other renderers.
Lancel Hair (Dynamic Carrara Hair): A short dynamic hairstyle for use with any figure (can be used with V4/M4/V5/M5/S5/V6/M6, etc etc)   See the 5 min youtube video for instructions, very easy to use on any figure; also because it's strand dynamic hair extremely realistic for renders and can be used with hair simulation for excellent/realistic dynamic motion in animations.
Iray Toon Shader: Did this just to see if it could be done. Someone in the DAZ forum wanted to know the settings, so I figured why not. There are only four colors in this (shown on Star) because although it renders faster, to get it to look right you have to encase the character in a sphere. I used two skydomes set to emission for my lighting.  Render times are a heck of a lot faster, too. But. Meh You have to have DAZ 4.8 and iray for this.  
DS 4.8 Iray Ghost Shader: Experimental Ghost Shader for Iray in DAZ Studio 4.8 .duf file Tip: Use a negatively dialed geoshell to avoid shining through eyes and mouth; apply shader to geoshell, too. Tip Two: If you are using hair, or anything that has transparencies, apply the matching transparency map to Cutout Opacity (set to 1). This is what I did for the mane, fesslocks and tail in the promo image.
6 Marvelous Designer Material Property Presets: In the zip file are six presets to add to your MD Fabric presets collection.  Three soft, drapey fabric types, and three very stiff, rigid types.   Unzip the file, and copy the files to the default folder, or to the folder of your choice.  These are some presets that I concocted myself for specific uses, and the names indicate the properties I was looking for.  The names are descriptive ONLY!   Feel free to use these as starting points for your own fabric property explorations. Carrara V4 Procedural Skin Shader and hair: This Read me assumes a basic understanding of Carrara. This is a procedural skin shader for V4. The base skin shader, lip shader and nipple shader can be used on any other model. The reason I call it a V4 shader is that I used black and white image maps to soften the transition between the lips and face and the nipples and chest. No image maps were used to color or add bumps to the shader. The shader is based on this tutororial:  http://www.shonner.com/drafts/procedural_skin_texture.htm To use, place the .cbr file into the directory ot your choice in the shader browser, then, with a V4 figure in the scene, select  Model and then the shading tab. Drag the shader from the browser and drop it on the multi-colored ball at the top of the shading domain list. As a bonus, I've included dynamic Carrara hair eyebrows and eyelashes. To use the eyelashes and eyebrows, place the files in the Objects browser in the directory of your choice, and with a V4 figure loaded drag and drop the hair files onto the Model in the figure's hierarchy. Special note about the eyelashes: You will want to hide the eyelash mesh with either an alpha shader, or go to the vertex modeler and go to Select by shading domain. Choose eyelashes and then go to View--> Hide Selection. The eyelashes part of the mesh should now be hidden. This file is free to use as you wish with no restrictions. You may redistribute this file as long as it remains completely free and this Read Me remains with the included files. There is no warranty expressed or implied. Use at your own risk. This file was created in Carrara 7.2 Pro and used no plugins to create the shaders or other components. 5 Poser Shaders or Mats (B): Five more shaders.  These are procedural shaders so they work on any model.The five are; Beaten Brass,  Fire, Granite, Jade and Veined. The beaten brass material shows more depth when rendered using Poser4 Rnderer, (see pictures).
5 Poser Shaders or Mats (A): >>>UPDATE<<<  Discovered error in some shaders.  Have replaced these with new ones. Rather than upload a mat file or 2 with each Poser upload I decided to load them as groups. These are ones that work on any model. This is my first five in a group, some are improved previous versions. These  reflecting metal shaders work best when they actually get to reflect something in the scene. They only work when using Firefly with raytracing for rendering. The five are;Copper, Gold, Silver, Chrome and Steel.
5 DAZ Studio Shaders: Rather than upload a shader or 2 with each DAZ upload I decided to load them as groups. This is my first five. The reflecting shaders work best when they actually get to reflect something in the scene. The five are; Granite, Fresnel Refraction, Reflecting Gold, Reflecting Silver and Reflecting Chrome.

Bone UberSurface Presets: A set of nine Bone presets for the DAZ Studio UberSurface shader. They consist of a tiling texture and DAZ Studio surface settings.  They were made in Studio 4.6, so they probably won't work in earlier versions, as they are in duf format.  But the settings and textures could be manually applied to the UberSurface base.The presets include a texture from CGTextures, so here is the disclaimer..."One or more textures on this 3D model have been created with images from CGTextures.com. These images may not be redistributed by default, please visit www.cgtextures.com for more information."To install unzip the file to a 'dummy' folder and then copy the contents of the My Library in the zip file to YOUR  'My Library' folder and merge, if asked.These are free to use in both personal and commercial renders, but the contents are not for redistribution. Models not included.
NK data files: This is a pack of nk data files, for use in Luxrender.  They are used in the Metal2 fresneltexture name slot…in Luxus that’s the Metal2 NK file (not sure of the exact spot in Reality..but they will be usable in Reality, too). Top Row: Old Oxidized Brass by Meelis   Cartridge Brass by Meelis   Bronze 1 (this is a sort of bronze that I cooked up) Second: Brass7030   Brass8515 The are from a US Army report from the 1980s   Brass9010 Third: Bronze_001   Bronze_002 The 2 bronze files were transcribed from data on the digital restoration of historic bronze artifacts.   Copper_002 This is a different data source than the included copper. Blender 3-way material and some others: Just a .blend file with some experimental Blender 2.69 materials for Cycles rendering. (Blender doesn't have a separate file format for materials, so meshes used are nothing other than typical blender presets.) Three-way material uses value of a B/W texture to drive mixing between three different materials. One of the experimental materials is a controllable color ramp. Limited in some ways, but unlike the normal color ramp in Blender this one allows you to animate color and position of each ramp slot or control them in other ways by node inputs. I don't expect anyone to use these materials as-is, but they may be useful to explore how they're made and create more "practical" materials based upon them.

Cel Toon Hair - READ B4 DOWNLOADING! Update out!: This is the old version of my cel toon hair. I've been playing with turning regular hair into toon hair as a result. This is a set of shaders I made to make my work a bit easier. There are two presets and an opacity map in the folder if you want to play with a third that may not make much of a difference.  You can use the one preset for wisps and the other for longer parts: mix and match. It won't work with all hair, but I've discovered that it does help with a lot of them.  No guarantee on looks. I haven't mastered how to get things to not look choppy on the edges just yet. The shaders were made using Daz 4.6. I have no way to testing them in Poser. Please use these for commercial purposes if they'll help you. That's what I do. ;-) Personal is of course okay as well...  But please don't redistribute or steal credit. These images were rendered using cel toon hair, uber environment, a simple light, and the pwtoon shader with interior lines turned off.

Depth Shader Snippet (Shader Mixer, DAZStudio 4.5): Depth Map shader snippet and bricks for Shader Mixer.I place no restrictions on what you may do with this set of content. It's a pair of snippets to allow DAZ Studio to have depth-based shaders that work on surfaces rather than cameras. Currently, depth nodes work only with cameras; through some mathematical shenanigans I've built ones that works on surfaces. The Depth Map is the final result, which can easily be plugged into the Shader Mixer and used to drive other functions. Cell Shader for DAZ Studio 4.0: Not tested in eralier versions of DS I made this simple shader for a freebie Challenge in the DAZ forum and promised to share it. There is no documented beside this text but the “front end” is set up so you should be able to find you ways around.It is in dbm-format so it has to be loaded in to Shader Mixer and applied from there. The shader will respond to lighting and render settings so you will have to test you way around,It will not take any textures except bump maps. Free for use in renders and similar for personal or commercial purposes. Redistribution against any form of compensation, for instance money, is prohibited. KerWar Apple Blossom Fabricator Presets: I VERY strongly suggest having a look at the readme as this set of Fabricator presets comes with some extras and the readme contains information on how to get particular effects and what the different extra presets do. This particular set has a watercolour look to it when viewed up close. The extras included are presets for Trans maps, Bump and Displacement settings, and Specular maps. There is also a folder called "KerWar Adjustment Utilities" which contains presets for quickly changing the Tiling and/or Glossiness percentage. It also contains presets to remove Bump maps only, Displacement maps only, Specular maps only, as well as presets to reduce Bump and Displacement strength. If you really muddle things up, there is a Reset All preset. Although the Ajustments and Extras can be used with Fabricator or MachPack if desired, they are not meant as such and may give strange results. However, they can also give some very interesting results when combined with the aforementioned products. There is an all white version of the texture you can use as is or with your own desired Diffuse colour. It can also be used to create lace effects.
J-Tex Tartan for Fabricator: This is a set of 50 Scottish clan tartans and variants for use with the Fabricator in DAZ Studio 3 or 4.It includes a mixture of 'standard', 'dress', and 'hunting' patterns based upon authentic designs. All texture tiles are seamless and mapped to Daz Shaders.Updated to version b, with .dsa format files and corrected paths in the zip file.
BILL'S TIRE TONES: Included here are 33 .mat files for Bryce 5.5 to Bryce 7 that covers just about any wheel needs that you have, from semi trucks to wheel chairs to baby buggies to military vehicles. If it's got wheels - these are the shaders for them!!!
CLASSIC AUTO COLORS SERIES 1935 to 1959: This is a package of 200 Bryce .mat files / shaders that are researched classic American automobile colors useable in Bryce 5.5 through Bryce 7. They are a precursor to a more complete and comprehensive set that will be release either for sale - or as a free item later - that will come in two sets, one for the years 1935-1959, and for the years 1960 to 1978. This IS the complete of 200 .mat shaders for 1935 to 1959, but it is a developement (beta) release. Please read the enclosed .PDF file and "Read Me" .txt files befor installing.
Complex Grass and Earth Mat for Vue: This was an exercise in learning Vue's matlab. :) I was just toying around with Vue's matlab, and this is the result. I tried to do tons of little fun detailed things, like white and gray-black rocks that appear with the help of alpha and bump production. Thought I'd share this. You're free to use it commercially, but if you modify it, I ask you don't redistribute the modifications, unless you ask me first. =)

Camouflage Netting Shaders: File had missing folder. Now uploaded corrected file. Apologies. I used a free dynamic sheet to drape over some boxes etc and then added the camouflage shader to it. Hope you can find a use for them.

KerWar Fancies 01: I VERY strongly suggest having a look at the readme as it contains information on how to get particular effects and what the different presets do. This particular set of shader presets comes a variety of different patterns and settings including specular colours, specular maps, trans maps, bump and displacement. The patterns folder has preview .pngs of each of the patterns so you can quickly see at a glance what each pattern looks like without having to look in each folder. The Specular presets will change only the Diffuse and Specular colours and set the lighting Mode to Plastic. The Pattern folders contain variations for each pattern in its own folder. Those variations are as follows: 1) Presets for applying Bump or Displacement maps only 2) Presets for applying different Specular maps only 3) Presets for applying ready-made gold or silver on black patterns only 4) Presets for applying Diffuse texture maps only (you can change the Diffuse colour as desired with these) 5) Presets for applying Opacity (trans) maps only The Utilities folder contains presets for quickly changing the Tiling, as well as for quickly changing the Glossiness percentage. There are also utility presets to remove Bump maps only, Displacement maps only, Specular maps only, as well as presets to reduce Bump and Displacement strength. There is also a preset to change the Lighting Mode to Plastic (for use with the gold and silver presets). If you really muddle things up, there is a Reset All preset. Have fun! :)
FIX for Funky Presets for Fabricator: There was an error in some of the Glossiness adjustment utilities files included with Funky Presets for Fabricator ( http://www.sharecg.com/v/58866/view/7/Material-and-Shader/Funky-Presets-for-Fabricator ) causing them to remove specular maps (when present). I've corrected them to leave that channel alone. Unzip to the same directory you installed Funky presets and let it overwrite.

Fairchild DAZ Bodysuit Carrara Shaders: Shaders for the DAZ V4 Bodysuit to turn it into Fairchilds uniform. These shaders are designed to produce a very particular effect and so have a high level of bump and reflection. If you wish to tone them down a little simply reduce the bump level and reduce the multiplier in the reflection. Thong and fuller cut versions provided.

My flavour of BB's James shader for Antonia: This is a scripted version of Bagginsbill's James shader compiled to material files (mc6s to be found in the materials library), as posted on the RDNA forums. It was scripted in Matmatic... the script is included. You will need to have Poser 9 or PP2012 because previous versions of Poser do not have the nodes referenced in these materials. Shadow Catcher with adjustable opacity: Updated to be a regular DS shader visible in the library Hello, here is a little shader that can be quite useful: It's a shadow catcher shader with a "shadow opacity" value. This way you can set the amount of opacity your shadows will have instead of being fully black. This is usefull for scenes with ambient light were the shadows on the model aren't fully black but the projected shadows over a regular shadow catcher are fully black. With this shader you can set them to be partially transparent, matching the shadows on the model.

Base Surface Settings for the MilHorse in DS: Have you been frustated by the look of your milhorse use DAZ Studio? Can't figure out why even when you change the lighting to skin or matt it still looks smooth, shiney not like a horse hide at all,and you've looked at the bump it's set at 100% and it's still not doing anything......well if you haven't been I have. And I finally figured it out the pz2's that come with the milhorse are great for Poser users,but not for DS (duh!) So I made this little MAT file to help others and myself out.It's pretty simple put whatever texture you want on to your horse figure,then double click on the Base Surface Setting DS file, it will add the bump map and some settings ,which you will still need to adjust, depending on how close or distant the horse will be,if close lower the strength,if distant increase it,if it's a dark coat lighten up the specular color a bit. Files are included for DS 2 and DS 3 ,version # are included in the readme. Basically play and have fun.

Carrara 7 Studio scene: A Carrara 7 scene file with three spot lights. One for Rim, one for Fill and one for Highlights all aimed at a target helper, approximately where a figures' head would be. I've also included a non-HDRI image based light model in the form of a grayscale .jpg in the scene background. Sky light (a GI function) is enabled in the scene by default to take advantage of it. If you find it is too bright, you can adjust it downwards as needed. Use as you wish. No restrictions, including the grayscale background image. This scene is provided free, as is with no implied warranties. Use at your own risk. Created in Carrara 7 Pro. A Fire/Flame Shader for DS3: Hi there, I want to share my first Results in playing with the RSL cabbilities of DS3: A not too simple Flame/Fire Surface Shader based on the tuorial found here: http://www.fundza.com/rman_shaders/flame/flame_opacity/index.html There is a Readme regarding Installation inside the Zip, but for easy Reference some Usage Points: 1. Opacity Strength can be more then 100%( aka 1.0) try it with a Gray map and see the effects 2. Flame Frequency in the default Space( "shader") has to be quite small (< 3.0) to look good (Default is now 0.15) therefore I have added a divide by 10 to the Property Value wich may look more natural to an user. same for the softness Parameter. 3. The Diffuse Strength is quite experimental, I'm not sure if it is realy helpfull 4. As there is no shadow calculation I have set the hidden parameter __noshadows to true by default) 5. Try Maps for the Colors 6. The Balance Slider adjusts the relation between the upper(diffuse) and lower Flame Color (for the default colors it is -28% to strengthen the red color) 7. HAVE FUN!!! PS: I have added an example Picture of the Default Color compined with a oppacity Map where I've set the Oppacity strength to 4 (= 400%) and one with 1(=100%) for comparision.

R72 SimVelvet Shaders for Daz Studio 3: This compilation contains 6 (six) fabric shaders for D|S 3.x; I've done my best to simulate a velvet-like effect without using SSS (sub surface scattering) while old Skin Shader Preset used by DS 2.x is not longer useable in version 3 and most users don't want to buy extra packages to obtain something that we previously had for free. I provide six color presets (black, purple, red, green, white, yellow), but you can (and are invited to) hack on Diffuse, Specular and Ambient color settings to get other combinations. Also hack on Bump parameters to match your preferences. Note that you'll get best results with darkest colors and lights on. See the sample image to have an idea of the material you're going to use. Gemstones: This is a material settings file for 3ds Max for gemstones, all of them that I could think of making. It includes: Amber, Amethest, Beryl, Citrine, Diamond, Emerald, Kunzite, Obsidian, Peridot, Ruby, Sapphire, Spinel, Topaz, Turquoise and Zircon.

Each color is in a a different format: - GC, gamma correction (specifically, sRGB correction) for those who don't have Poser Pro - GC & AO, for those who don't have Poser Pro and use material based ambient occlusion - P8 IDL, for those who use IDL without application level GC. NOTE: Requires some other method of correcting the final render. See Renderosity's forums for bagginsbill's Artistic Lens technique. - Plain, no correction, linearization, or material-based ambient occlusion. Ideally these are meant to be used with Poser Pro GC and light-based ambient occlusion. The nodes that control basic properties like color, bump and specular have been placed to the left of the basic Poser Surface node. This includes a control for amount of metal (0 to 1), and in the pearl textures amount of iridescence (0 to 1). You can either change their inputs, including colors, or input other nodes (like an image map node) into them. The reflections are real, so you need to give them something to reflect. For more dynamic highlights, add pure ambient white objects behind the camera. Also provide dark objects to contrast with the bright highlights.

DAZ Studio Distant Lights: Thankyou for taking an interest in my Distant-light Shaders. Having spent a lot of my time working on many shaders and learning how they best serve my needs, I wanted to share them with you. Why spend all of your valuable time waiting for renders to appear then only to find the light was just not how you would like them to be. Then after setting it up again and waiting again just to find out if it has worked for you. So I spend most of my time experimenting with distant lights as they take the least amount of time and getting some great results. So I have compiled many of my favourites here for you and I do hope you have many uses for them. In this kit you will find some suitable for low light effects, back glow, portrait shots and more. Instead of using spheres to display the lighting, I have used a model as this will better demonstrate the effects and give you a quicker method of choosing the right lighting for your scene. The images were all rendered in DAZ studio with NO postwork, so what you see is what you will get. There will be variations on models as they are dependant upon Skin and Clothing textures and glossiness. Though the results should still be very close to the images I have supplied. Note: each light shadow map took 10 seconds and the final render took less than 8 minutes on my computer with my image size at 1000x1000. Times may vary on your computer depending on the processing power and size of your final rendered image. Please put these files into your "/Contents/Lights" directory.
Brass and Copper Metals Finish: These two Metalic Shaders will really enhance the finish on your instruments or weapons. Has been tested as a skin shader too, with really great effects. Could be used to create your very own Grammy Award... :)
DS3 Gel Light (Image): Light shader allowing images to be cast. Recommend an intensity of 1000000.
Wood Floor for Bryce: A quick material preset that will give very realistic wood textures. The color saturation is a bit on the high side, you can de-saturate this texture as needed for greater realism. Bump and specular are both place. Apply reflection as needed.

Velvet Materials for Vue 6 and 7: Nine free procedural velvet materials for Vue 6 and 7. I once made some velvet materials for using with Vue 6 because bitmapped ones didn't look quite right. I've now updated them for Vue 7. Both versions are in the zip. The Vue 6 ones are slightly different - darker and more mottled. UberEnviroment Presets 2: As I promised here is the second volume of presets for Omnifreaker's UberEnviroment. There are three presets in this package that specifically mimic outdoor lighting. With this package comes a custom Long/Lat Map so the zip file is a bit large (16mb). Also this set utilizes not only Raytracing on the Uberlight but also on a default DS Spotlight which means about double the render times of the first package.

UberEnviroment Presets 1: I have been using Omnifreaker's UberEnviroment for awhile now and created a bunch of presets so I could do really quick test renders and not spend a lot of time spinning dials and adding lights. I decided to package these presets and offer them to all the Daz Studio users who have the UberEnviroment already or are thinking about getting it. There are 6 presets in the first package that I think come pretty close to certain basic lighting schemes. These presets will load the UberEnviroment with Long/Lat Map and depending on the preset a few stock Daz Studio lights, plus all the settings. You will need to have the UberEnviroment installed for any of these to work and this is not Poser compatible. The enclosed readme will explain how to install the presets, where you can find them and what all the settings are to reproduce the lighting in the promos. This package contains the following presets: Uber-preset1.ds = studio/office Uber-preset2.ds = overcast sky Uber-preset3.ds = sunrise Uber-preset4.ds = moonlight Uber-preset5.ds = sunset Uber-preset6.ds = candle/table lamp For the promos I just took a simple room and a bunch of primitives with different shaders applied, then added the preset to the scene. There were no special bump or reflection maps used and no post work. Each render took about 30 minutes. In the last two images I just added A3 to the scene with a basic skin texture and the default surface settings, then used uber-preset2.ds (overcast sky) and uber-preset6.ds (candle/table lamp). If there is a lot of interest in this package I may release other Uber-presets, as I have a lot of them and some would include custom Long/Lat Maps created by me. Enjoy and happy rendering!!

Grass Shader as .ds file - DAZ Studio: NOTE: This should now work in all versions of DAZ Studio. I've been playing around with textures, trying to get a semi-realistic grass. This seems to be pretty fair. It's just a bump/displacement/opacity thingee as a shader, with a map generated in P'shop. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to work it in Poser (only have DS). I've posted the DS version and (hopefully) someone can convert it to a Poser compatible file and post it. Don't panic, if after applying, the object (plane?) to which it is applied looks transparent. It should look a lot better on rendering.

Carrara rust shader BASIC version: This is a procedural rust shader for Carrara 7 (it should work on C6 too, but didn't tied). You will need the ANYTHING GOOS plugin for Carrara by the http://www.digitalcarversguild.com/ This shader will automatically apply some rust to any edges of an object. The size of the rust depends on the size of your 3D model, the easier way to change the size if the rust is simply entering the vertex editor, scalling your model down (for larger rust) or up (for smaller rust) and then, in the assemble room, scale it back to its original size. That will change the original 3D size of the object but will keep the original size in the scene. You can change the scale through the shader room, of course, but it's extremely tricky, so I suggest you to make it this way! ;) This is a basic version wich DON'T use the SHADER PLUS plugin for smoothing the rust edges but there is an enhanced version too here in my uploads. Feel free to use it has you wish, commercially or not. Some credits are always welcome but it's absolutly not necessary ;)

Daz Studio V4 Hi & Sample Res Material Settings: I made these material settings to give V4 a more realistic skin tone for both the simple and high resolution textures. You must already own the maps or they won't work. Once the HIGH resolution materials are applied to V4, you can use any of the other DAZ3D V4 hi-res materials to change her makeup, skin tone, bump strength, and skin, lip, and nail glossiness because they won't affect the material channels that I used to get the skin color right. The V4 high-res skin tones can also be used on the simple (default) textures as well. Rendered using DAZ General Lights 01. Free to use, but please do not sell or distribute in any way.

V4 Skin Shader kit and Lights for Carrara 6: I created the skin shader kit to make my own life easier and thought I'd share it. The tutorial will show you how to apply the included "skin blank" shaders and save your V4 down to your object browser. Then you can apply any character set you would like and adjust it. I hope you find it useful! The lights are a set of deep shadow lights I created. Please use them. Study the settings for the angular falloff, range falloff and the light radius of the soft shadows.

Thai silk procedural shaders for Carrara 6.1: I tried to make these shaders as true as possible to the real thing. In Thailand, the prismatic silk is woven with different warp and weft threads, giving the silk a rich, two-toned effect. I am pleased with the results of these 16 color combinations. Water Shaders for Carrara: 7 water presets for Carrara. The scale of the object/scene will affect the look. The individual shaders will need some tweaking depending on your scene. You will notice that I tried various techniques, all with decent results, not sure which is my favorite preset, or favorite method at this point. They look much better applied to the Ocean Primitive than the spheres. Image one was raytracing and caustics, image two adds GI. I strongly suggest enabling caustics when rendering water, seems to have a wonderful effect.

self-proximal edge shader for use in Cinema4D: hi to all, this is another experiment i did using the proximal effect to infuence the proximal object itself. i ended up with a kind-of-edge-beveling effect that can be on it's own or combined with another displacement map. i hope you find it usefull. ps: for meshes like platonic object where polys aren't vertical to each other, reduce the phong tag angle, (i.e 50deg) or else the effect won't work

Bryce Striated Waves: This is a material that I created in Bryce to produce the effect of striated waves or wispy clouds. This is a material you could apply to large spheres in the sky for long wispy clouds or to very thin spheres along a water plane to give the shape of waves.
Bryce Explosive Cloud Material: This is an Explosive Cloud Material that I've created for Bryce. It looks great applied to a sphere in a space scene to produce a gaseous explosive effect such as a star exploding. I've included a mini-tutorial that helps explain how you can customize the material to meet your needs.

Car Paints: Bryce procedural material colours made for use on cars but they can be used anywhere. A few of these colours go on top of certain of the other colours, for instance, the Red/Black trans goes on top of the Black Undercoat, and the Blue Speckled Coating goes over the Green Car Paint (can also use Green Car Paint on its own) as well as over the Violet Car Paint, and the Green Fleck Trans goes over the Green Car Paint. But try other combinations as well. Instructions for placement are inside the mats. Most work well alone. For use with Bryce6. Free to use for commercial and non-commercial works.
