It’s Finally Here! NewSkin Version 1.4 has been released and is ready to download for free. Now you can change the textures files in your Poser files, correct or replace texture file references, and then package those files to share, with one simple utility.
Newskin Version 1.4 is a small simple utility to change textures in Poser files. Although NewSkin was created for Pose files, it also works with other Poser file types. (*.pp2, *.pz2, *.pz3, *.cr2, *.hr2, *.mt5, *.mc6)
If you have ever downloaded texture files, without MAT Pose files, Newskin can simplify the process of using your new textures. You don't even need to know if the tongue, lacrimal, or nostrils are found in the head or body file. With a little practice, you can create a MAT Pose file in under 30 seconds. Transfer Textures from Victoria 1 & 2 to Mil Girls or from Victoria 3 to Aiko in a fraction of a minute.
Since Newskin works on most Poser files that use textures, you can change the skins of characters and materials on clothes, hair, and props in a Poser scene, without even opening Poser. Combined with the Save and Load features for conversion data, you can test your new textures in several different scenes, with little effort.
This is the Upgrade Install of NewSkin 1.4. If you are not already using Version 1.3, you will need to download the Full Install of NewSkin version 1.4.

Hello Guest. I packaged Newskin 1.2 for installation. You can find it in my portfolio called "NewSkin1 Full Install - A Simple MAT Pose Cloner ". It will install NewSkin 1.2 in it's own directory, add NewSkin to your program menu, add all of the DLL and OCR files that you would need if you do not have Visual Basic 6.0, including "comdlg32.ocx". Common Dialog (comdlg32.ocx) is not included in Visual Basic Runtime.
From now on I will try to create two versions of downloads. An Upgrade for those who have no problem running the previous version, and Full Install for those who are new to NewSkin.

When I release verion 1.3, i will do it as a full install. This will increase the file size to 3 or 4 megabytes, but will help avoid the possibility of missing files. I am still working on several enhancements, so I won't be releasing it for at least a week. If I get hired in Montana, it will be at least 6 months.

The file would be noticeably larger, and require that you install the program instead of just unzipping it and running it. Please let me know if you want the full install for the program.

Once you install VBRuntime, you will no longer get that error on any program compiled under Visual Basic 6.0. The VBRuntime can be found at www.download.com (which is part of cNet), or you can try downloading it straight from Microsoft. If you want, I can repackage the program to include the DLL files you are missing.

V4 use different texture mesh. U can use the same pz2 file for cloth but not on the body.

I don't have V4, so I don not know if they use the same textures. If V3 and V4 can use the same texture files, the process is very easy. Just load a V3 pose or character, select the V4 textures, and save under a new name.

NewSkin Version 1.0 had an error that made the output files unusable. I have fixed the program and released it as version 1.1. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. I cannot start work on version 2.0, that should contain individual texturemaps and transparencymaps, until all problems are resolved and minor enhancements are completed on Version 1.
