This model was made for fans and Poser users who want to add a slightly-updated version of the classic communicator to their Trek-related (original series, most appropriately) scenes. The TriComm is modeled along the classic lines of the 1966 Wah Chang-created props, updated with features now commonly found in smartphones, including a touchscreen and both internal and external cameras, as well as a memory card slot and navigation/function buttons both inside the body and on the outside case, making them accessible without opening the comm. The display screen and the lid have been UV-mapped so textures can be applied easily (a template for the screen is included in the "Textures\Ptrope\TriComm" folder). All buttons have also been UV-mapped so the user can apply bump or texture maps to add additional detail to the model; none are provided in this set.
