Finned A-Wakashi

The Blind Hunter as it's known, a formidable hunter that uses heat seeking sensors along its body to locate prey through pulses sent out along the surface of the ground. This pulse is very much like a bats sensors where it projects a 3-dimensional image inside the A-Wakashi's brain mapping out the lay of the land and picking up on anything living. The heat pulse runs along the ground as well as heading up rocks, trees and over water inside of a 200 foot radius. These pulses are constantly generated unless the A-Wakashi is sleeping. This predator hunts at random whenever nutrition is necessary, it makes no distinction between day or night since it lacks any optical organs. It can sense the difference between fire and a living animal but only through movement.
This predator is in the insect family but it contains a skull and brain as well as an exoskeleton for optimal efficiency and defense. Weighing in at about 30lbs the A-Wakashi is similar in size to the common house cat. One with extreme jaw pressure capable of splitting its jaw and dislocating the lower portion to open at much larger sizes when its small jagged teeth are incapable of cutting up its food source. The small teeth are more for grasping its prey than actually chewing it up. Several areas of this creatures body are protected by spiked thorns which project a small toxic venom, enough to keep its prey or predator stunned while it either escapes or feeds upon the intruder. A-Wakashi were descendants of Japan back in the old ages, they have survived and since then decreased in size and lost their ability to swim, though the fins remain vestigial they are still used for protection.
Extremely Quick, Armored, Extreme Nasal Cavities, Dangerous and Intelligent Hunters.
