II've been asked how I mapped my Buddhist Armour to the various figures, and how I got over the problem of matching seams.
It's really simple - by-pass the issue and let a clever, free piece of software do the hard work for you!
This 10 page 891K PDF guide assumes you're familiar with the basics of Blender (i.e. you can load the figure mesh, position it and delete all the vertices except the area of skin you want to tattoo yourself) but haven't yet found the steps for this particular task. If you don't use Blender the same principles may work in whatever software you use.
It really is incredibly simple - maybe 50 keystrokes/mouse moves and less than 5 minutes to do a figure!
I found the key to it in a post on one of the blender websites, but can't find the link.It can be summarised thus:
1) Project the tattoo image orthogonally onto your figure's mesh.
2) Bake the projected texture onto the figure's UV map.
