"The Creator Media program is an incredible opportunity for teenagers to collaborate and tap into their inner creativity, develop their passion for media and see it translated into a unique brand and business," says David Evans, president of Summerfuel. "It doesn't really matter what participants' passions are—music, comedy, gaming, animation … they can bring them to Creator Media and professionals will inspire them and teach them how to produce and broadcast their stories. We want participants to move from being consumers of content to being Creators of content and build successful careers in digital media."

Creator Media camp will be hosted on the campus of Occidental College and will welcome both day students from the LA area and residential students from around the world. The fast-paced program features guest speakers and industry visits to leading studios and media companies across Los Angeles. Production workshops on topics as varied as visual storytelling, set-design, script writing and editing are complemented by coaching on business aspects vital to the field, including building a personal brand, growing a subscriber base and monetizing content.

CreatorUp, an LA-based leader in digital media education is partnering with Creator Media camp to provide access to its extensive library of online media courses and field a team of seasoned media professionals to mentor and live with students throughout the program. "This experience will help launch the next generation of creators contributing to the digital revolution in the entertainment industry," says CreatorUp co-founder, Michael Tringe. "These budding mediapreneurs will become new voices from all backgrounds, telling stories in new ways, and building unique media brands with global impact."
