The Grid NYC: Connect. Discover. Inspire. -- A Meaningful Music Event for Artists and Fans May 4-7

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- Feb 10, 2016 -- This May, NYC's Meatpacking District will transform into a "collaborative campus" where the best new artists and musicians will gather alongside the more established and iconic to create the ultimate fan experience -- The Grid. The Grid is not just a music festival, but a music initiative that celebrates the art of music, its power to connect people all over the world, and most importantly, the value of the artists and musicians that create it. Tickets go on sale February 12 and can be purchased at thegridnyc.com.

Designed for today's music explorer, The Grid will span 20 intimate NYC venues from The Meatpacking District to Brooklyn. The four-day event will feature over 100 multi-genre live performances, special curated music events, inspiring "Storyteller Sessions" and endless opportunities for learning and inspiration. A series of 12 sessions dubbed THE GRID 101 will help guide up-and-coming artists and musicians on how to navigate today's complex music industry.

The Grid is a place for all types of artists, musicians and fans to come together and celebrate the past, present and future of music with intimate performances from bands and solo artists including St. Lucia, Frank Turner, Questlove, and Butch Walker; plus red hot emerging artists like White Sea (Morgan Kibby of M83's new project), Beacon, Sam King and other fan favorites. Storytellers and Speakers will include industry experts like famed music producer, Brian Eno, Public Enemy's Chuck D, Dave Navarro from Jane's Addiction, musical duo, twenty one pilots and more. Special events include a "Warped Tour Rewind" curated by Kevin Lyman, an "Emo Re-Boot" curated by Dashboard Confessional's Chris Carrabba, and a very special music showcase curated by Communion Music, the artist development company founded by Ben Lovett who is also a member of the Grammy Award winning band Mumford & Sons. Additional talent and programming will be announced weekly beginning February 19th.

Via The Grid's website ( www.thegridnyc.com), fans, influencers and tastemakers will be able to recommend new and undiscovered bands and artists that they feel have what it takes to be showcased at The Grid. "Unlike other music festivals that charge bands and artists a fee to apply for the chance to be showcased, we want passionate music fans to tell us who they've discovered; ultimately it's the fans who determine the success of an artist," says The Grid founder Eric Murphy. The Grid's dynamic music team, comprised of 10 very well respected music industry vets, will select less than 50 fan nominated bands and solo artists to open for the headline talent. "We want this to be a really exciting moment for these artists; and knowing that their fans got them on that stage means everything," concludes Murphy.

The Grid is created and produced by experiential marketing and music agency Pop2Life in conjunction with Azoff MSG Entertainment, headed by well known music manager Irving Azoff.
