The Positive Impact Awards (PIAs) is part of the BF+ DA celebration of two years as a Brooklyn-based social innovation entity that is supporting over 32 sustainable businesses in fashion, technology and research. From gender neutral clothing for women to 3D printed jewelry, hand crafted shoes and knitwear, the BF+DA designers collectively have reached incredible milestones including an over $1.75 million increase in revenues and job creation in Brooklyn of over 50 new jobs.

"The time to adopt 21st century strategies is now. Successful businesses need to implement the core values of waste reduction, transparent supply chains, ensuring the use of ethical production methods and exploring new technologies. These are the things that are driving our future," says BF+DA founder Deb Johnson. "We're here to get the apparel industry on track."

In addition to the awards, tours of the BF+DA's production lab, including demonstrations on the digital knitting machines and tours of the sustainable textile library will be complemented by BF+DA Venture Fellows opening their studios for shopping.

In response to the upcoming election, Patagonia will show-off its newest initiative #VoteOurPlanet which offers information on the New York City politicians that are committed to protect "soil, water and air."

The celebration will take place at the BF+DA and is open to the public by RSVP. "Getting 500 advocates for the environment and society together in one place will be a heady experience," says Ms. Johnson, "It's a movement that finally has traction."
