HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — November 5, 2018 — Recognizing 2019 as “Hollywood’s transformative technology year,” the Advanced Imaging Society today announced plans for its annual On The Lot Conference. Presented by Dell, the annual gathering will be held Dec 12-14, 2018, at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, Metastage at Culver Studios and the new Google office at the Spruce Goose center in the former Hughes Aircraft hangar 15 building in Playa Vista, California.

Speakers include Gary Radburn, Director of Commercial VR and AR at Dell; Glenn Gainor, President, Innovation Studios, Inc.; Buzz Hays, Global Lead Entertainment, Google Cloud; David Ward, CTO Engineering and Chief Architect, Cisco Systems; Prudence Fenton, Cinematic Reality Producer, Magic Leap; Michael Zink, VP Technology, Warner Bros. and Chair of the UHD Alliance; Christina Heller, CEO, Metastage; Patrick Costello, Sr. Director of Business Development, Qualcomm; Ioana Matei, VR Solutions, Proctor and Gamble; Bruce Tartaglia, Senior Research Engineer, DreamWorks Animation; Amy Peck, CEO, Endeavor VR; Jonathan Miranda, Director of Strategy, Technology, Salesforce; Michael Scogin, VP of Entertainment Digital, NBC Universal; Corey Turner, SVP Post, Paramount Pictures; Rick Champagne, Global Media and Entertainment Lead, NVIDIA; Tony Parisi, Global Head of Brand Solutions, Unity; Pete Lude, CTO, Mission Rock; Kathy Mandato, HR Advisor, XPRIZE and more than 20 additional speakers.

The conference annually hosts more than 500 creative content and technology professionals for discussions, demonstrations and networking opportunities to foster strategic partnerships and align goals for success in the media and entertainment marketplace.

“Our members have indicated that the coming year will see the most disruptive technical and business model changes we have seen in Hollywood since the introduction of sound in 1927,” said society president, Jim Chabin. “So it’s fitting that our conference will take place day one in our traditional home at Paramount Studios, but then move day two to the stunning new Google office in the former Hughes Aircraft Hangar 15 in Playa Vista,” he added.

This Fall, the Society held its long range planning process, which concluded that professionals producing premium content cost effectively will increasingly require leveraging new technologies. Those new tools include real-time rendering, production in the cloud, XR, AR and VR, 5G, machine learning, UHD and new streaming platforms to remain competitive in the year ahead. At the same time, these new best practices must be consistent with “protecting creative intent” of artists and content creative teams. The speakers and their presentations will help attendees learn how to leverage technology to create “future focused” premium content. This year’s conference also welcomes speakers from leading advertising brands, including Proctor and Gamble.
