Hi,

Is it possible to batch process a load of .bmps to jpegs and save them in a different folder to the bmp original?

I've been doing it by hand up to now but it's giving my RSI gyp, so I need to automate it if possible.

Is it?

if it is, how do you do it?

Open Paint shop Pro, go to file, scroll down and click on batch processing,  it will ask you to browse for the files you wish to convert and which format you wish to save them in.  That is all.  As far as I know there is no limit to the number of files you can convert.  You can also to a batch rename the same way.

Okay, now I'm not laughing at you Matika, in fact I'm very grateful for the reply.

I do appreciate you talking the time to bother with such a lonely question.

Luckily there are some much more busy forums around, plus I've found that my local library can supply reference books on PaintShop Pro, so I haven't had to rely on this place.

It's a real shame that this place isn't busier than it is.

Sorry it took so long also.  I use paint shop pro as a second photo editing program.  Normally I use photo paint which is a part of corel draw.  To me it is a lot more user friendly and a person is able to do loads more with it.  Unfortunately they refuse to sell it as a seperate package.  Don't know why learned it instead of Photo shop.

No problem.  I too use PaintShopPro as a second tool, Photoshop being my 1st.  I used to have The Corel Draw Suite - a long, long time ago.  I wonder where it went?  I seem to remember that PhotoPaint was fun to use.

I wish I knew photoshop but you can't learn everything.  I can use photoshop brushes in corel which comes in handy when doing textures.  Finally I have been able to trade my 2 and a quarter slr for a digital slr so now I can photograph my own cloth and textures.  Photo paint lets you edit avi, and animated gifs which paint shop pro doesn't.  Before learning 3d, I used to combine 200 plus photos to make one photo.  3d makes it a lot simpler once I designed my own characters.  I tell you one thing, there should be a program that worked with poser that actually made it easy to create your own character from photographs.  And I hate smith Micro.  My computer crashed and burned last month and have been trying to put programs back on.  Can't seem to update poser now.  Anyway that's my problem.  If I can help you with paint shop pro, just ask.

No, you can't - and I sometimes wonder if you can learn anything, as I seem to keep on finding out something new from PhotoShop every so often. But of course that's what makes life exciting.

Really?  That's good to know.  Not that I have Corel. I thought that I at least had Corel Painter Essentials3 but it says the serial number is invalid and emails to Corel just bring me back rubbish nonsensical answers who want me to "redownload the program from the site" when I didn't download it from Corel in the first place, I had a DVD with the program on it as I got it bundled free with my wacom tablet.

Those people just never bother to read the email in the first place!!

Oooohooo!  Nice!  Um, just curious but what's a 2 and a quarter slr?  I know 'slr' is single lens reflex, but what's the 2 and a quarter bit?

It does?  Wow!  How on earth does it manage that? I use a video editor for that. (After Effects or Premiere Pro or Ulead Video Studio)

Is there a way to transform the size of just a single layer in PaintShopPro. Transform and move preferrably? 

I can do it in PhotoShop easily, I just use Ctrl T and the layer's handles pop up: top, bottom, sides and all corners. But I was working in PaintShop the other day and it would have been nice if I could do similar in there instead of having to transfer the image to PhotoShop and start again in there...

Is it possible?

what is a 2 and one quarter slr?

Answer.  People mostly relate an slr to a 35mm which is the size of the negative.  the movie you go see in the theather is usually shot on 70 mm film, advanced amatures and professional will shoot their pictures on 120mm or 220 mm which is the size of the negative.  Hence it is called a 2 1/4 slr.

Neither people or background is real but a combination of pictures.  The one titled death of a goddess and the one titled friends took me close to six months each to create.  Though it took me nearly that long to create a 3d human, I can pose her in many different poses.   When I am done to where I believe I cannot improve her any longer, then I will show my creation.  She is part human and part panther, and part faerie.   When I am done, she should be able to morph eaisily from one to the other.  At least that is my plan.

Can you change the size and position of a layer in Paintshop Pro?
