I am curious if any of you out there are using 3D scanners to create 3D models?

I have been using a 3d laser scanner for the better part of the past year for various projects. If you aren't familar with this it is the process of using laser to scan the surface of a real world object to create a 3d mesh.

I have scanned everything from Fossils to Star Wars toys to body parts!

While not a replacement for a 3D Artist or CAD engineer it certainly is a useful tool!
