Animation (production?) Files. Report this article as Inappropriate to us !!!Login to Reply

Currently I posted one under 3D models as of now, since I don't see any better place for it. (And it supports a file format for the program I use.) But I think having a category for animation that is specific to 3D software that supports animations. A scene may not have any really new content (models or shaders) that would be considered a 3D model in all fairness, but still the scene would contain quite useful content in the way of scripting, particle effects, timeline settings, rigging, etc. Such files are very handy for learning 3D animation by example or "reverse engineering".

So could there be a category under 3D for animation production? This should be made clear that this type of animation file is not the rendered stills or the finished animation, but the type of stuff needed to make such animations. For these files, it might be good to format the display page such that the description takes a bigger priority. (Have it expanded more, so people know what the resulting render would produce and what interesting things to look for.)

Also it should be made clear if other supporting content is needed which isn't already included with the software. We shouldn't have people slipping stuff through that's not theirs via an animation. I think that would be good to make clear ahead of time as well.
