EXECUTIVE JURY PANEL TO SELECT WINNER FROM 50 TEAMSSAN FRANCISCO, March 4, 2015 — (PRNewswire) — The San Francisco Campus of the Hult International Business School is pleased to host the Hult Prize Regional Finals on behalf of the Hult Prize Foundation and its partnership with President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Global Initiative. On March 14th, 50 schools will compete in San Francisco in the world's largest student competition and start-up platform for social good. The competition will be held on the Hult campus at 1355 Sansome Street, and is by invitation only. Media is invited to attend by RSVP.
Two hundred fifty students from the world's top universities will travel to San Francisco to present their business solutions to the unmet need of the century: early childhood education in urban slums. Their social enterprises will be judged on their potential to provide access to quality early childhood education to 10 million children under the age of 6 living in urban slums worldwide by the year 2020.
The top team selected from San Francisco will join the other regional finalists from the Hult campuses in Shanghai, Dubai, London, and Boston, as well as a wildcard entry from an online round. The six teams will then participate in an intensive six-week Hult Prize Accelerator in Cambridge, MA, where they will receive mentorship from the international business community and guidance on strategic planning as they prepare to launch and scale their new ventures. The final round of the competition will be held in New York in September at the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting, where President Bill Clinton will present the winning team with $1 million in startup capital.
The San Francisco panel is composed of Bay Area business and educational experts. The judges include:
- Kim Belshe, Executive Director, First 5 LA
