@Mephoria: Thank you. Increasing the maximum instance is very easy. Plase open the script in Notepad, and change nMAX_INSTANCES on line 7 to a larger value.

I love your script, but the 1000 instance limit is a problem for me -- I need 5000-20000 to get realistic grassy hillsides. By simply editing the script, I can go beyond that limit, but I don't know what the risks and downsides are. Could you explain how you settled upon 1000 as the top limit?

@Cross: It's possible. Select the instance group, and Choose Edit->Object->Instances->Break Instances Group from menu. If you want to combine them again, then select "Group Like Sibling Instances".

Is there any way to make the individual instances of group accessible? If 90% of the instances look great but one is in a bad spot I do not see a way to adjust that one instance.
