MY crummy uploads Report this article as Inappropriate to us !!!Login to Reply

A few of them have already been taken down, and those are the ones that I won't be putting up again.  Eventually, most of mine will be taken down, but reappear in a completely reworked form.

My reasons, maybe I'm old school, but file size is still a concern, and some of mine I consider just huge, far too huge.  Others, and I'm not ashamed to say they were pretty bad, they'll be redone and reposted.  Some, if the download counts are low, that means there's little interest in that, and no need to put it up again.

Sharecg is a wonderful resource, almost anything you'd want can be found here.  But because the space is available is no reason not to watch the file sizes, which is why some have already been taken down.

One thing that I know bloats them, the textures, and I know that eliminating those where practical and replacing them with materials from the material room will reduce those sizes considerably.  PLaying in the material room has shown me if I have some patience, I can reduce a 4 meg download to under a meg, with almost no noticeable difference.  It's also the chance to rework a few into something better, which I'm all for.

I'm aware it will cause those using daz studio problems, but I don't feel that will affect many.  ds has it's equivalent to the material room, so it shouldn't be a real problem for them.  I'm still learning, they can too.
